Jérémie Moussiad Kerouanton – aka DJ iZem–  wanted to branch out a couple of years ago and traded France for Ireland. Now, the Paris-born DJ is heavily involved in what he describes as “an exciting bass/dub/reggae scene” in the city of Dublin. So while listening to Gilles Peterson his radio show all of the sudden he dropped a remix of Nina Becker’s “Do Avesso” done by the tireless music globe-trotter DJ iZem.

As a DJ he’s eager to…Read More »

Monsieur Qui

monsieurqui_0000001_2
Walking through the streets of Paris, coming across the works of street artist / illustrator Monsieur Qui is a true delight. It must’ve been early 2008 when that happend to me and it was enough reason to do an interview with Monsieur Qui, which was one of the first interviews we’ve ever done.  Back then most of his street work consisted out of hand-drawn paste-ups of pretty and fashinable ladies, motorcycles or the wonderful combination of those two. Over the years…Read More »
Wedding / Fine Arts photographer Edward Olive has come a long way since the last times we had the honours of featuring the good man on CFYE and Gup Magazine. It seems that his photography finally starts to get the recognition it deserves. A thought that is strengthened by the amount of awards added to his biography since the last time we spoke. I know awards aren’t everything but it does show a level of…Read More »

Debilorithmicos ft Sid Po...

I think 3 years ago we received an New Years card from our homey Lukasz Polowczyk from 44Flavours. Ever since then we consider him a good friend of ours, although we never have met. I think he’s one of the few who actually knows my name and is interested in what we’re doing. So when a couple of days ago I received another…Read More »

DZIA

dzia-krank (2)
Any street artist having a bunny with a hand grenade as logo is cool in our book, so no wonder we had to feature Dzia sooner or later! Dzia is an immensely diverse artist from the city of Antwerp, Belgium. He’s continuously busy on and off the streets creating paintings, illustrations and paste-ups to installations, sculptures and even taxidermy! It’s almost needless to say that what I like about DZIA is this immense diversity. One of my favourite projects of him…Read More »

Vannen Watch x Tado give-away!

tado-daydream7
We thought we didnt’have money for exclusive watches, but Vannen artist Watches proved us dead wrong. Vannen watches are made by different artists and designers from all over the globe. They create the design, the package and some cool things around it and Vannen turns them into 150 exclusive watches for a reasonable price.  How cool is that? Some of our favorite artists have designed a Vannen Watch, like Huck Gee and Buffmonster and Tado! And it’s…Read More »

Jonathan Leder-Modern Pin-ups

jonathan leder-modern pin (7)
In the 40´s and 50´s the American soldiers started to hang pictures of pretty girls on the wall. It was one of the ways to encourage themselves during the heavy period of being in a troop. And so, the pin-ups were born, and a standard of beauty with them: sexy, sensual, feminine, but naïve. So many years later, even with the big changes in our culture, we are still able to find these characteristics in contemporary photographs out there. Almost nothing as provoking as in…Read More »

New work from Pallo!

1
Ah, Finland! Summers with no darkness and winters with no light, combined with enough cold to turn mad anyone from the European mainlands. Over the generations the Finnish learned to deal with the cold and lack of light /darkness in an effective manner: They’re all bloody mad! Some of them found the perfect outlet for their madness though (besides drinking), like Pallo! Pallo is CFYE’s favorite Finnish street artist (see our feature from earlier on here). He’s also the only…Read More »
You can call Mario Gerth a journalist, photographer or modern-day explorer. He has traveled 65 countries on five continents and witnessed civil war, poverty, dictatorship and violence – but more often he was a guest in a world which have been characterized by graceful beauty. Gerth photographs were shown at international exhibitions and published in countless magazines. Nowadays he works as a part-time banker in Germany and as a photographer / journalist in Africa. Currently his work has a…Read More »

Ludo hits Amsterdam

ludo (2)
French artist Ludo has been active on the streets for a few years now. His art is characterised with grey, white and his already famous acid green trademark. With his Nature’s Revenge theme it is like he is trying to get nature back in today’s hectic world. Images of, for example, butterflies, flowers, insects and vegetables with modern objects and techniques popping out. Pretty amazing! With his paste-ups he always goes large on billboards, walls or wooden boards, and is quite picky when it…Read More »
