Claudia Corrent – Lost in Tunis

By Kaymir Stark

Claudia Corrent is a 34 year old Italian photographer.  She shoots magazine worthy images of her travels. They have that superb crispy and clean touch to them. With great enthusiasm we present you her stunning work from Tunis.

“Ever since I was a child I used to “edit” the family photos: I would put them together and try to give them some order although I didn’t know I was “editing” them. Photography became a conscious means of expression during a photography course I attended at the local University. Meanwhile I graduated in Philosophy and now work as freelance photographer.”

“Photography has taught me to observe reality with renewed attention and awareness; it is a wonderful means of investigating reality, getting in touch with people’s lives , watching and understanding the world around me. I do photography independently from my travels. Naturally, we tend to have a wider, fresher view when in unfamiliar circumstances and some of my projects concern humans and their environment”

All my projects step from themes I can explore also just outside my front door. For instance, I’m currently working on a documentary work on love: I’m asking some couples (young and old, gay or straight and of different nationalities) what love means to them. I asked myself : what keeps two people together? What drives them apart? I mean this project to become a collection of experiences of life as a couple, something like an atlas.
