So you might have heard something buzzing about a CFYE event in your school corridors. We don't know where it's coming from but we already heard rumors about stripclubs and people asking if they can join the afterparty @ Kaymir's place if they bring a keg. Well let me tell you the real deal then! The 7th of November it's time for 'Lift', a monthly party/club night which is thrown in Restaurant/Lounge/Club/ Canvas (Amsterdam). This edition will be a special one as it's part of the official Museumnight afterparties! CFYE will be responsible for the art exposition that will be up in Canvas for a month, so at the same time the 7th of November is also our exposition opener!
A mix between electro tunes, industrial steel, cranes, electricity masts and urban landscapes. That's what I'd say if someone would ask me to explain what the works of Graphic Surgery look like. This two-man collective has an abstract style which is undeniably unique. In 1999 they've started working together under the name EHGZ which now grew out to their own design studio. For their free work they use the name Graphic Surgery, which also says a lot about how they work. They're masters of different media, and in every one they work with the same surgical precision. Even though they've been going strong for a while, I just recently encountered their works and was instantly intrigued.
On October 4th 2008 they had their debut with a party at Canvas: Sold out! Februari 27th they are going to do it a bit bigger and a lot better at the Sugar Factory. CFYE got free tickets, read more to find out how to win those babies...
We know Brutuzz for a while now, he's a cool guy and dangerous behind the turntables. He keeps spamming us with new music and mixtapes. Fight fire with fire they say right..? Well we spammed him like crazy and got this back!
Ives. One! We met him, we tagged him and we tracked him but still he surprises us with what he's up to. We like to know things and we know that you like to know things too. That's why you'll get another CFYE exclusive Spam! interview with Xstreets member Ives. One! Don't know him? Well you can't have walked the streets of Amsterdam without seeing his work, so read on for more...
Lately our mailbox has been flooding with spam! Not the right one, but Chinese spam, which we @ CFYE do not really understand. Luckily the SPAM! we send out gets answered too! So get ready for a brand new shiny CFYE original SPAM! interview with BUSTART. If the name Bustart rings a bell, that wouldn't be surprising. We recently dedicated an article to the Xstreets Collective exposition, of which Bustart is a member. Besides that you can't walk the streets of Amsterdam withouth seeing one of his stickers, stencils, pieces or paste-ups. The same probably goes for Basel, Swiss, home of Bustart and his brother Pingu, also active in streetart and member of the collective. But enough from us, read on for some Spam!
Already a while ago, somewhere in April, we got a message on our myspace from Michael de Feo . Turned out that he was giving a 2 day expo in Amsterdam at Another Space . More then enough reason for us to take a few pictures and have a chat with the man himself! Check out the pictures and the work he left behind in town in our Mdefeo Flickr set! |
