What is CFYE?
In short, a platform for inspiring content and exposure of creative audio and visual work. For the full answer, we redirect you to the 'about' page and wish you much reading pleasure!

Â

Why are you here?
There's a lot that inspires and moves us: music, photography, (street) art and the creative people behind it. We hope to help the ones that inspire us by offering them a platform, and we hope to inspire others with what inspires us. Inspiring, isn't it?

Â

You guys are all over the place, what kind of projects do you have going on?

Â

cfyearsfulls

A selection of the (in our opinion) best mixtapes and new 'myspace' artists around the globe. We try and help you discover new artists and new music with almost daily posts of new electronic music. We wrapped that up in a sleek little jacket and called it Crackforyourears. Join the addiction!

Â

Â

Â

Inspiration is everywhere, we found it on the streets and called it crackforyoureyes. By taking pictures of the nicest stickers, stencils, pieces, paste-ups we created a database with over 3000 street art pictures, and it still grows almost daily.

shuttercrackfulls

Your daily doses of inspiring Photography. Our Shuttercrack crew (including ourselves) are inviting the cream of the crop in our shuttercrack Flickr pool. The best of those get blogged on www.shuttercrack.com, so please eat your heart out!

Â

Â

Â

OMG OMG these logo's are awesome, who made them?

That is our wonderful art director Meneer de Zwart..read more about him on the 'crew' page

Â

Who are you guys?
'We' are Kaymir and Arden. Pleased to meet you!

Â

Are you street / graffiti artists?
Nope, well Arden actually had a try at it in his younger years but didn't do any good. We love the smell of fresh paint though!

Â

Are you musicians?
Nope.. but in this case Kaymir has a great history of turning knobs and pushing buttons in the studio (SSL & Neve tables) . Kaymir used to produce hiphop / filthy electronics on his MPC years ago and slowly made the transition to Ableton. Every once in a while he still locks himself up to produce a fresh mixtape for crackforyourears.com!

Â

Are you photographers?

It's not our profession, but it's something we do and love. Besides that, photography is a big inspiration to us. This is the reason we also try and feature a lot of aspiring and inspiring photographers. See http://www.shuttercrack.com, and for our Flickr streams:

How do you make money?
Well, seeing that CFYE only costs us money:

Are you alone?
No we get loads of female attention, but sometimes on cold winter nights we feel kinda "ronrey"...oh wait..
Seriously, the whole idea behind CFYE is collaboration to build a huge group of inspiring fellow creatives. Seeing the support we've been getting, we're never alone!

How can I contribute?
Our phone lines just opened! Hit us up through the contact page with anything you've got and we'll get back to you as soon as possible!

cfyelogoCFYE is a cultural webzine which explores and showcases the thoughts of creative people. We offer a broad selection of subjects, and with that, a platform which brings extra exposure to the creative people that inspire us so much. We're always looking for new, creative work and we're always open for new contacts. In the end, CFYE is all about making nice things with great people!

With CFYE we focus on different subjects:

All this comes together on cfye.com. This webzine is weekly updated with interviews, columns, reviews and other interesting write ups on events and artists.

STREET ART/GRAFFITI - CRACKFORYOUREYES.COM

cfyeyesfullsCrackforyoureyes.com is the place for your daily dose of street art. This blog is all about street art and graffiti and offers an extra point of exposure for the artist. With daily updates, worldwide contributors and a fast growing community on social websites like Flickr, Crack for your eyes is establishing itself quickly in the street art and graffiti scene.

MUSIC - CRACKFORYOUREARS.COM

cfyearsfullsCrackforyourears.com is all about promoting new artists, DJ's and new music in general. Crack for your ears offers new high quality mixtapes with a direct download from soundcloud on a daily basis. Crack for your ears also has its own mixtape series called Rush which is done by a different DJ every edition. Next to that, the blog helps you discover new artists with the 'hypespace'.

PHOTOGRAPHY - SHUTTERCRACK.COM

shuttercrackfullsShuttercrack.com is a platform which is totally focused on inspiring visual communication trough the art of photography. Photographers submit their best work to our moderated Flickr pool on a daily basis and the best of the submissions will be allowed in the pool. The best of those are selected and put on shuttercrack.com, assuring that only the cream of the crop appears on the blog. Shuttercrack is moderated by 10 different volunteers across the globe.

LIGHT PAINTING - CRACKLIGHTDISTRICT.COM

cld_logo100x100Cracklightdistrict.com is the result of a collaboration between the Japanese light art performers Fiz-Iks and CFYE. Even though light art performance isn't huge with the general public yet, one of the first known light art performers was Picasso. In the 80's, Dutch artist Eric Staller explored light painting and recently this art form started to make a revival. With cracklightdistrict we offer a point of exposure for beginning light painting artists as well as re-introducing the world to this spectacular form of art.

MOTION - CRACKCIRCUITTV.COM

cctvfullscrackcircuittv.com is the place where all the hard work and effort of small independent film makers pay off. Okay not really, but it's a place where we gather the best and most inspiring animations, stop motion movies, collages and everything else that moves and can be embedded on a webpage.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND CFYE

CFYE is created by Kaymir Stark(24) and Arden de Raaij(24), two senior interactive media students and creative minds. Kaymir and Arden both do consulting in new media and concept development with their own company's. They consider CFYE to be their full time job though, and spend day and night searching for new talent and interesting events to document.

CFYE has an always expanding crew of writers, photographers, moderators, bloggers and other contributors and we wouldn't exist without these people. For a list of main contributors, click on the map.

crew

Besides this crew, we wouldn't have anything to show for without all the artists that share their stories, images and inspirations with us.

MISSION

Our mission is to become one of the leading cultural webzines, combining all our different subjects in one interesting magazine. We want to offer our visitors inspiring and quality content, both written and visual. Also, we try and be of service to the artists we feature by opening doors for them and connecting them to the people that can mean something to them. This is why we are always open for new contacts in any creative sector.

We strongly believe in the use of social networks and existing creative platforms like Flickr or Vimeo. This offers us the chance to directly approach artists and scout for new and unknown artists to feature.

NON-PROFIT & ADVERTISING

The CFYE project is entirely non-profit. We do not make any money with CFYE and our only income comes from donations of the people that like our work. Everything coming in through CFYE is directly invested back into it.
We are interested in advertising deals with brands that have a connection with CFYE or one of the satellite websites. If you feel there is a connection between your brand and CFYE, you can always contact us at contact@cfye.com. We are open for barter deals.
