In Argentina they know how to combine their skills and work together to put out one big creative fist. I think we honestly say that during the past year all the good stuff music wise came from Argentina. It felt like a sonic ocean breeze accessorized with excellent artwork and uplifting spirits. A while ago we had the pleasure to get in contact with Alta Joya, an flashy creative lady from Buenos Aires who's making the most out of life. We asked her to put a mix together for the upcoming second edition of our mixtape serie and answer a couple of questions in the process.
Music wise, the UK is always on the frontlines of music evolution. Luckism, aka Jamie Shaw is a guy from Barnsley (close to Leeds) and is comming up as a talented producer. His tunes are solid but he still manages to keep them light and easy to digest. He just got a free EP out for the masses. The promising "Greasy EP" features 3 tracks that combines all kinds of genres. Get your free copy here. We had a chat with him to find out more about this rising star.
The Canadian based record label Turbo Recordings founded in 1998 by Tiga is still going strong. On the first of April they announced a revolutionary new model for their music business. It would change the way of music consumption and distribution and would pave the way for world domination. Well maybe not that, but still, a very interesting message. We got in touch with Thomas von Party, who gave us more insight about the opportunities and pitfalls in the current business climate they are operating in. Oh and about that joke: we totally bought it, with our eyes closed we fell for it.
When Ochsendorf was barely out of his diapers he met his first love, the glockenspiel. This fine little instrument formed the basis for this dj's ear of fine tunes. When he was in his early teens he went to his first electro party including sunglasses and a small budget for beer. And unsurprisingly he got completely hooked on the spacey sounds that banged his virgin eardrums. At the present, electro is still Ochsendorfs biggest love. And sharing this love with other electro fanatics is his biggest passion in life. He already performed live with the green machine Dr. Lektroluv. Let's have a peek into the world of Mr. Ochsendorf...
Europe is known for its vivid electronic music scene. In the fabric genres get re-worked, remixed, re-invented and what not. The UK born genre dubstep has been on the scene for a couple of years now. The bass driven genre is finally conquering ground on the mainland of Europe and beyond. Â Two members of the Mashup Mafia crew-who simply go by Mike and Mark-created the film called "Livin' inside the speaker" a couple years ago, but recently decided to release it to all you good people outthere for free. |
