Some artists are just too modest! Cloud nine says he just tries to get along with a lot of people, has a love for rock and graff, and that's about it. We don't believe it, we think there's a lot more to this artist seeing the amazing work he delivers on these streets. His portrait styles, but also his pieces are stunning, and together with the SOF crew he makes that magic happens that forces you to stop, stare and look again.
Last year we jumped on the bus to nowhere to attend the beer 'n paint session in Villa Friekens, Amsterdam. It was freezing cold, as more people recall, but we saw some amazing artists and work out there! One of these artists is Mishfit, we loved her work instantly. Now, half a year later it's about time we started asking her some questions! The quick essentials; She's based in Brighton and has a thing for tentacles! Yes I know, the tentacles thing intrueged us too, so please read on for a spam! interview with this amazing artist. (for a quick background, check out this old wooster collective interview with Mishfit)
Somewhere in the dark midst of North Carolina (Stanly County to be exact) strange lights are known to appear. Hovering orbs, twirls and trails color the sky on a regular basis. The locals talk about 'el extraterrestre' or area 41. Since the lights have been appearing two years ago, no-one still knows what is going on
How did we do this? Well actually we didn't yet, TCB did. But he hooked us up with something that almost gave us tears of joy: The CFYE collapsable light stencil, complete with manual and examples in a great looking instruction booklet. Besides that, he also made a video tutorial for the ones who don't like reading. Break in abandoned buildings, go deep into the forest or paint your windows black. Whatever you do, make sure it's dark for the first part of TCB's light painting 101's:
No, your eyes are not playing any tricks on you. What you see before you is as real as it can get. No photoshop, no hallucinations but straight up real art, with the world as a canvas and light as brushes. That's why we are proud to present the newest addition to the CFYE crew: Them Chernobyl Buds.
As a Jedi Master with lightpainting he does everything for his art and is always prepared to take a young paddawan under his wings. Be prepared because he's ready to give Crack For Your Eyes a whole new meaning. Please strap on your seatbelt and be ready for a great adventure in photography with a series of lightpainting 101's containing spectacular images and tutorials.
But first, how it all began: An addiction to lightpainting by Them Chernobyl Buds...
