There's been a flood in the UK lately, loads of places got hit by a massive amount of the infamous pink stickers. There are several sources distributing CFYE in the UK, but there might be one who is the most notable: Nine-O. We have yet to meet the good man, but reliable sources tell us there are not many more people who are so enthusiastic when talking about street art/graffiti. Not only an artist himself, but a big fan as well, he became CFYE ambassador in the UK in no time. Not only that, he also blogs on crackforyoureyes.com every once in a while. More then enough reason to give him a proper introduction!
Not too long ago we came across a digitalized blackbook of one of the biggest Dutch graff legends: COSH. Honestly, we haven't been so excited in a while! COSH is well known for his awesome characters and was among the first to take Dutch graffiti to the next level. It's easy to forget the old-school but seeing that black book makes you remember where it all came from. Nowadays, COSH is a freelance designer/illustrator, animator, electro music producer, he makes sculpters and in other words, is a full time artist. His work can be found in videoclips (some Dutch people might know his work from the videoclip 'de vierde kaart' by brainpower) 'till childrens books. This guy has laid down the base for a lot of artists we feature nowadays, so we are particularly proud to present you this feature with COSH!
Nose one is a master of mixed media artwork. Fine art, illustrations and graffiti are blended into one in his lair in Philadelphia. Besides being a street artist, he also directs Mcjawn, a cultural magazine which is right up our alley. All the more reason to give him some spam!
Some people catch your eyes quicker than others. I can not recall when I first heard about the in Ireland born Finbarr Notte (aka Finbarr DAC). It was probably via the infamous photo community site called Flickr, where almost every self respected urban artist is exhibiting his/her work. I do, however, remember when I first saw the man at work. It was at the Wonderland Collective show at London's Light Bar earlier this year. I guess I can say that I was more than a bit impressed by his way of working and the final result. So, a good reason to expose Mr Finbarr Notte on CFYE.
Hungary has talent, mad talent! After the very talented Mr. Zero we featured earlier on, our next spam victom from Eastern Europe is Fat Heat. Fat Heat is also in the CFS crew (same as Mr. Zero) and has a mind boggling cybernettic 3d style. We'll let the pictures and the artist do the talking. Enjoy!
In case we haven't said it enough lately: making cool stuff with good people is what it's all about! That's why we're glad to meet DEAM. DEAM is a good spirited artists who hails from Italy, but is a citizen of the world. Being a true graffiti geek (his own words :p), he picked up the art himself and got good at it. Really good! So enjoy this Spam! interview with DEAM.
Laughing is good, and that is what Adam Mclevey made us do with pulling a Banksy on Banksy at the Banksy vs Bristol Museum expo. Pulling pranks on the prankster, just how we like it.Of course, there is more behind this artist then just pranks, and browsing through his amazing work on Flickr we decided to ask him ourselves.
And the love from Brasil just keeps flowing in these days! Talented photographer and good friend Gui Christ (with who we did a feature not too long ago: Gui C - The Intense Brasilian Experience) has gotten us in touch with one of the hottest graffiti crews from Rio de Janeiro: Mafia 44. He showed us one of their works based on one of his portraits and we were instantly sold by their amazing work. Thanks a million to Gui for doing the whole translation of the interview, Ratão Diniz for providing us with the photography and ofcourse to Mafia 44!
Gary from Untitled streetart gave us the heads up about a new streetart book they're doing which will launch august 2009. We will let you know more about it when it's there, 'till then, here's some info from the makers themselves.  It started like this . . .  Man goes to Bethlehem in 2007 to witness Santa's Ghetto, sees the light, returns and has a dream to spread the gospel via the printed word.
We're positive people but every now and then the rain gets to us. In such a case, there is no better remedy then doing an interview with a good spirited artist like Chase. Chase knows what we're talking about! He traded in the rainy days of Antwerp for the sunrays in Los Angeles. Now, LA is his homebase from where he spreads his uplifting and thoughtful messages in the form of murals filled with colorfull creatures. So go ahead, let yourself be inspired and let the sun shine!
