For those who didn't already know, it's final. Lightpainting has got us sitting upright in our seats and has our full attention. Through our friend and crewmember Dana aka TCB we came in contact with Matt Crawford. Matt has gone trough the same journey we have: He discovered the world of lightpainting and got hypnotized by the lights. Now Matt and his crew are busy on a big project on lightpainting that will include a movie called 'luminary'. The movie is described as a 'gonzo documentary' about lightpainting. For this, Matt and the crew travel the world to show the work of numerous lightpainters/artists all around the globe. We want to know everything about this amazing project, and we will be following the crew in their progress. But first, a proper introduction. Welcome to the world of 'luminary'.
Breathe... by tdub303 - on flickr  Sometimes I feel like Commander La Forge from 'Star Trek, Next Generation'. Uncovering strange new worlds and boldly going where no one has gone before. Only without my glasses I can't see shit! What I'm trying to say is, that we use this spaceship called CFYE to explore the strange and intriguing worlds of creatives as much as possible, and just when you thought you've seen everything, a whole new galaxy appears for your eyes. In this case, that galaxy is called lightpainting and we won't stop exploring it 'till we featured everything on CFYE, so please read on!
How did we do this? Well actually we didn't yet, TCB did. But he hooked us up with something that almost gave us tears of joy: The CFYE collapsable light stencil, complete with manual and examples in a great looking instruction booklet. Besides that, he also made a video tutorial for the ones who don't like reading. Break in abandoned buildings, go deep into the forest or paint your windows black. Whatever you do, make sure it's dark for the first part of TCB's light painting 101's:
No, your eyes are not playing any tricks on you. What you see before you is as real as it can get. No photoshop, no hallucinations but straight up real art, with the world as a canvas and light as brushes. That's why we are proud to present the newest addition to the CFYE crew: Them Chernobyl Buds.
As a Jedi Master with lightpainting he does everything for his art and is always prepared to take a young paddawan under his wings. Be prepared because he's ready to give Crack For Your Eyes a whole new meaning. Please strap on your seatbelt and be ready for a great adventure in photography with a series of lightpainting 101's containing spectacular images and tutorials.
But first, how it all began: An addiction to lightpainting by Them Chernobyl Buds...
