Sweat.X are Spoek Mathambo 'The Kool Disco Okapi' and Markus Wormstorm 'The LAN Lord' operating out of Cape Town, South Afrika. Mathambo plays the Ndebele counterpoint to Wormstorm's exuberant Afrikaaner: 'We're like a 20ft painting of a black hand holding a white hand against a bed of fur and wires.' Over the last years Sweat.X have developed their self described 'future-primitive' and 'black sweat' brand of patois littered electro. We had a quick word with the guys from Sweat X.

In Argentina they know how to combine their skills and work together to put out one big creative fist. I think we honestly say that during the past year all the good stuff music wise came from Argentina. It felt like a sonic ocean breeze accessorized with excellent artwork and uplifting spirits. A while ago we had the pleasure to get in contact with Alta Joya, an flashy creative lady from Buenos Aires who's making the most out of life. We asked her to put a mix together for the upcoming second edition of our mixtape serie and answer a couple of questions in the process.

Normally I would come up with such a smashing intro about the artists that all of you dear readers feel like reading the whole damn interview. Well...I am not gonna do that today with Ninjasonik, I am just gonna say what popmontreal.com said (the truth!):

Influenced by the likes of Justice, Boys Noize, MSTRKRFT, LA.A RIOTS, and others similar, Sybrfuk (soundcloud / myspace) has developed a way to create his own sound by taking hard electro synths and looping over pounding beats. Never missing a step, sybrfuk has been in the game for over 15 years, and now is when he decides to produce and speak his mind through music. Over the past year it seems that he only gets better with each project that he creates. And every moves he makes is being announced over the cyber world. From mixtapes, to remixes, to live, every project is different and better than the last.

Empacho Digital (or Digital Stomachache) is a three-disc mashup album featuring more than 40 tracks that lead you on an unimaginable musical journey where cultural boundaries are blurred and genres are melded to give rise to the unprecedented. It displays a wide range of musical influence opening the listener to various dissimilar music styles. Exuberating Villa Diamante's versatility and musical insight. Another tireless effort of making art out of art; with cultural industries at their height, record companies at their lowest, and the Internet serving as the maximum tool for informational searches, the freedom of Wi-Fi is already showing its first collateral damages. Empacho Digital is nothing more than a consequence of all the music that has ever come out of this DJ's speakers. [Direct Download]

DJ Juan Data takes you on a shaolin cumbia journey with the addictive Mersaholic. Born and raised in Caballito, a middle-class neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina; Juan Data discovered hip-hop and dance music culture at the early age of 13. Years later after relocating to California he moved to San Francisco and since then he has been playing, non stop, at house parties, clubs, bars, lounges, restaurants and concert venues all over the city and beyond. Still a freelance music journalist by day (and a comic book aficionado) Juan Data puts on his wrestler mask by night and transforms into his DJ alter-ego to rock the party with his characteristically eclectic play-list, experimental mixes and outrageous performances. We first got familair with him after discovering the Linyerismo episode I and the more recent Linyersimo episode II and where blown away by it. Hands down for this music journalist (you can read up on his articles and reviews on latinbutcool.blogspot.com, Billboard En Español, Remezcla and our own crackforyourears.com), DJ and person in general for this new gem: Mersaholic (direct download)!

Berlin based producer Robot Koch (Soundcloud / myspace) is the mastermind behind the critically acclaimed band Jahcoozi and post rock/hiphop outfit The Tape vs RQM. He works as a beatmaker and producer with many different artists internationally. On our new favourite audio platform Soundcloud we came across him and fell instantley in love. In his kitchen you will find forbidden electronic fruits mixed with the traditional German ingredients. Robot made beats and remixes for artists like Infinite Livez (Ninja Tune/Big Dada), Rustie (Stuff Records), Marsimoto (Four Music), Envy (Start Stop), Mochipet (Daly City), Justine Electra (City Slang), Raz Ohara (Kitty Yo), Al Haca (Klein) and Christopher Wiltis (Ghostly International), and Amanda Blank (downtown rec).
