James Kalinda

James Kalinda

By Arden de Raaij

Exceptional work from Italian street artist James Kalinda! You can find his art on the walls of abandoned buildings, sometimes together with Centina, an artist we recently featured. His paintings are quite dark, something that extends in James’ sculptures which contain animal skeletons. But painting or sculpture, all of his works seem to lure at you directly. Besides being a (street) artist, James Kalinda is also an exceptional tattoo artist.

“James Kalinda signs his work with an empty comic strip bubble. What his drawings are saying nobody knows or maybe everyone knows but him. He often draws in an upside down pyramid or in an eye with tentacles He loves to paint in places that have been abandoned or in general on the street because it gives him a peculiar sensation of his existence. He would like to be a cave man for a day.”
