Nose one is a master of mixed media artwork. Fine art, illustrations and graffiti are blended into one in his lair in Philadelphia. Besides being a street artist, he also directs Mcjawn, a cultural magazine which is right up our alley. All the more reason to give him some spam!

Where are you from, and where are you going?

Well I’m from Philadelphia, PA, USA. I’m going to get some coffee, iced though cause it’s summer time.

What got you into to street art and what makes you keep on doing it?

I think the idea of changing your environment into the way you see it was appealing to me. It’s just fun to show people your views and how you see things. What kept me doing it was the positive feed back I would receive from people.

What is your favorite item to take on the road with you?

There’s a lot of things I enjoy but overall its probably my camera.

Not sure it’s constantly changing here. Right across the bridge in NJ is an awesome spot called Terracycle thats a definite spot to check out. It has dope artist from all over and tends to growing fast .

Do you prefer doing your work legal or illegal?

Hmm… Legal. I suppose I liek taking my time. It basically depends on the project though.

How much does art influence your everyday life?

It depends on the the day, but it probably influences everything even if it’s subconsciously.

What was the first thing you put up on a wall?

A really bad attempt at a graffiti piece, or a Ninja Turtle poster when I was six.

Is there any artwork you consider your best?

Not at the moment, I feel I only have a best for a certain time period.

Which artist would you like to work with in the future?

It would be great to work with AJ Fosik. He’s an artist that does a lot of wood worked mix media sculpture pieces, I think his installation work is great and would be fun to collaborate with.

What is your favorite movie/gaming/cartoon character?

That would be the Cookie Monster.

What is your favorite music/genre/artist/album?

My favorite music group is A Tribe Called Quest. I think they just touch home for me. You Know? I feel as though I can relate to the lyrics and the whole vibe of their music. It’s just good music.

If you could fill a swimming pool with something, what would it be?

Milk and cereal, preferably Fruit Loops. Kittens would be pretty awesome too, but thats minus the milk and cereal.

Favorite city, and coolest thing about it?

Philadelphia, and being able to find cheesesteaks within a two block radius from anywhere.

You’re a master of mixed media, how did you start out mixing these styles up, and why?

I went to an art high school and got bored with only doing straight up acrylic and oil paintings. So I figured that mixing mediums that I liked to used, would help revamp my enthusiasm.

Are you working towards a specific goal?

Good question, I often ask myself that. My goal for now is just to create, grow, and live off my work. So basically just to have my art take me somewhere new and interesting.

What can we expect from you in the future?

I’m not even sure what to expect, I like to take things one step at a time.
