It must not have been easy to get permission for ten massive walls to be painted. It must especially not have been easy to do so when it is normally being seen as vandalism. The people behind Caramundo got the permission and the results are to be seen in and near the city centre of Rotterdam. As part of R.U.A. Festival, street artists from Brazil were invited to show and paint their work on these walls and did so during July and August. Rua is the Portuguese word for street and that's exactly what it is all about.

It's been a while since we've heard of the crew, but they've sent of pictures of their time in the US. The last we heard, they were deported out of there for causing mayhem, and are now heading to France. Seeing the pictures, we're guessing they've had fun in the Lone star state.

Â

A small word from the man who was lucky enough to be their photographer and live, Matt Crawford: "I should start with mad props to Trevor and the entire Fiz-iks crew for generating the concept for The Orbacle and then finding the masks for The Crew. The entire thing is well conceptualized and looks great. I really like emphasizing the potential for storytelling in a long exposure shot. Stringing along an international story development process is a magnificent thing, the possibilities are literally endless.....with The Crew Fiz-iks provided a very exotic looking cast, a strong story line, and freedom to continue the narrative thread in any direction. So, it's like a perfect project and I am very honored to have been able to play a small part. I can't wait to see how it all develops....."

Now let's see what the crew has been up to in Texas.

paybacktime

The third part of fiz-iks' Orb-acle collaboration project: revenge!

The crew is trading in the land of the rising sun for the lone star state, but not before they take care of some business. You better believe: It's payback time!

And the Fiz-Iks Orb-acle story continues!

This series of shots documents the "makeovers" that The Orb-acle kindly gave each of these men. Here you can witness the creation of the genetic freaks which have become to be known simply as The Crew.

culture
In the northern part of Europe lies a country that is silent yet booming. Helsinki, the capital of Finland is a cultural, up and coming centre of creative talents. Helsinki has a very active creative scene, which is very visible in the summer but very much hidden in the cold winter months. However, as soon as the sun is out and the thermometer goes to +25°C, Helsinki comes alive. Our spy satelites detected activity in the Suvilahti district of Helsinki, we sended in our native CFYE trooper This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. payback-1
Now what is all this? Our good friends from Fiz-Iks started on a new collaboration project we couldn't be more hyped about! They've searched the earth to find the freakiest animal heads they could find and beheaded them (just kidding, they're just masks but they're still freakishly scary) to tell a lightpainting story on a global scale! The first chapter will be made in the home-base of Fiz-Iks, from where they will be sent to lightpainting artists all over the world that will continue the story. Fiz-Iks gave CFYE the honor to feature this story and let the world see how this story will unfold.

living

Europe is known for its vivid electronic music scene. In the fabric genres get re-worked, remixed, re-invented and what not. The UK born genre dubstep has been on the scene for a couple of years now. The bass driven genre is finally conquering ground on the mainland of Europe and beyond.

Two members of the Mashup Mafia crew-who simply go by Mike and Mark-created the film called "Livin' inside the speaker" a couple years ago, but recently decided to release it to all you good people outthere for free.

Sometimes I feel like Commander La Forge from 'Star Trek, Next Generation'. Uncovering strange new worlds and boldly going where no one has gone before. Only without my glasses I can't see shit! What I'm trying to say is, that we use this spaceship called CFYE to explore the strange and intriguing worlds of creatives as much as possible, and just when you thought you've seen everything, a whole new galaxy appears for your eyes. In this case, that galaxy is called lightpainting and we won't stop exploring it 'till we featured everything on CFYE, so please read on!
