Timothy Cheng – Slow walking

Hong Kong based photographer Timothy Cheng never leaves the house without his camera. Living in a city renowned for its expansive skyline and a population of over seven million people must be a sort of paradise for every street photographer. Cheng began his street photography in 2007 and never stopped shooting.

“Everyday, I like to look out what is happening around me. Strangers usually inspire me a lot, I like to walk slow to pay attention on what they are doing. Every time when I review my photo, I may have different inspiration. I started to use my GR Digital to record all of them, capture their decisive moment.”

Working during the day as a creative for a big advertising agency, his field of work is mostly set in the bigger Hong Kong district. On occasions he ventures out to other areas and countries to document the streets abroad.

“I like to candid those; I really feel the honesty from the picture. I can see dark side in the happiness or a happy moment actually is not that enjoyable.”

Don’t forget to have a look at Timothy’s complete photostream. I had a very hard time picking out a selection of all the fantastic moments he captured!
