Followers of CFYE know I’m a big fan of Parisian artist ASTRO (ODV crew). Together with fellow artist Kanos he has continuously impressed me with beautiful murals, clever concepts like Cellograff and awesome video-productions edited by Kanos. What I didn’t know, and nobody else for that matter, is that Astro has been secretly working on his first canvas works.

Instead of simply transferring his street work to a canvas, Astro has been practicing in his studio for over two years, exploring techniques and building a solid relationship with Canvas. I can really appreciate the idea of an artist working secretly in his laboratory to perfect his craft. This level of dedication and perfectionism alone is something I’d like to see in more artists before they try and transcend from the streets to a canvas.

Anyhow, I’m très impressionné and looking forward to how this will progress in the future!
