Ludo hits Amsterdam

By Nicole Blommers

French artist Ludo has been active on the streets for a few years now. His art is characterised with grey, white and his already famous acid green trademark. With his Nature’s Revenge theme it is like he is trying to get nature back in today’s hectic world.

Images of, for example, butterflies, flowers, insects and vegetables with modern objects and techniques popping out. Pretty amazing! With his paste-ups he always goes large on billboards, walls or wooden boards, and is quite picky when it becomes to choosing his spot. If ever you see one of his works, it will without any doubt make you say ‘Wow’.

Last weekend Ludo visited Amsterdam for his solo show Super Discount at the garage. A canvas series of screen printed Del Monte cans and with ingredients such as chunky grapes, pear halves and dark sweet cherries. Mmmm… Yummy!

Of course, when being in Amsterdam he could not have left the city without leaving his art outside on the streets. Locations such as central station, Amsterdam’s squat street and the infamous redlight district is where his art can be found.
